When it comes to glamour and lifestyle, the first thing that comes to our mind is Lipstick. For those who don’t know anything about Lipstick, here is a brief introduction on Lipstick.
Lipstick is a type of cosmetic product, that is applied on the lips to add color and give the the lips a finishing touch. Lipstick are available in various shades of red and other colors and lipstick are available in various tones as well.
What is Red Lipstick made off ?
Is is made up of combining Waxes + Oils + Pigments. Now lets understand the the practical applications of Waxes/Oils & Pigments.
Waxes = Wax gives it a solid and a soft structure and it also gives an ease of application over the lips.
Oils = Oil provides the moisture and shiny texture.
Pigments = Pigments give a vibrant color and a rich texture.
Red lipstick has a very long history and it is associated with glamor, confidence and rich beauty. It is very popular all among women from all countries across the globe since it compliments all the women and their outfits.
Why is Red Lipstick Banned under the North Korean Regime ?
In North Korea, is completely banned as a part of the regimes strict control over people’s personal appearance and their style quotient. The regime enforces strict dress and grooming code and conduct for maintaining a ideological conformity all over the country.
More than all Red Lipstick is seen a symbol of Western culture and its association with capitalism culture, which is very much contradicting to North Korean culture and values.
The North Korean Regime promotes a uniform and a modest appearance among its citizens and discourages all forms of self expression which is viewed as rebellious and opposing to North Korean values and culture. The don’t want to be influenced by western culture.
The regime views western ideas and culture as a distraction to goals and unity that the regime promotes. By controlling such activities of its citizens, the North Korean Regime aims to reinforce complete authority and and control over is citizens.
Also they certain patrolling teams on the streets who take strict action on the people who are dressed inappropriately and have a high makeup applied.
