In North Korea, is completely banned as a part of the regimes strict control over people’s personal appearance and their style quotient. The regime enforces strict dress and grooming code and conduct for maintaining a ideological conformity all over the country.

More than all Red Lipstick is seen a symbol of Western culture and its association with capitalism culture, which is very much contradicting to North Korean culture and values.

The North Korean Regime promotes a uniform and a modest appearance among its citizens and discourages all forms of self expression which is viewed as rebellious and opposing to North Korean values and culture. The don’t want to be influenced by western culture.

The regime views western ideas and culture as a distraction to goals and unity that the regime promotes. By controlling such activities of its citizens, the North Korean Regime aims to reinforce complete authority and and control over is citizens.

Also they certain patrolling teams on the streets who take strict action on the people who are dressed inappropriately and have a high makeup applied.
